As the only triple board-certified surgeon in Florida, Dr. Karthik Sugumaran specializes in several areas of surgery and medicine, including weight loss, bariatric surgery and critical care. His comprehensive weight loss clinic offers a range of procedures and medications. During his studies, he completed dual fellowships at the University of Miami in advanced GI and minimally invasive surgery, as well as at Washington University in trauma and critical care. There, he recognized a gap in the understanding of critical care for critically ill obese patients. He was the first graduate of Washington University to complete the ELSO ECMO practitioner certification.
