Interior Designer: Ann Cox of Ann Cox Design and Michael Morabito of Coco Design Group
Builder: Asad Shaikh of Your Tampa Expert Development
Architect: Alex Rios, Rios Architecture
Photographer: Ashlee Hamon Photography

Nestled in South Tampa, this new two-story home is a collaborative effort between Michael Morabito of Coco Design Group and Ann Cox of Ann Cox Design. The homeowner, a developer and builder who travels often, sought a modern oasis that could double as both a primary residence and Airbnb. The sleek, contemporary design features neutral colors with a modern, moody palette. The layout of the split home balances privacy and openness, appealing to the owner’s need for low maintenance and rental desirability.

Neutral colors dominate, while custom wallpapers—color-matched to the chosen paint colors—carefully chosen fabrics and textured rugs add depth. Notable materials include a beautiful dresser from Noir, wallpaper from Livette’s and customized fabric for the living room sofa and chairs. The primary bedroom’s small balcony also features an outdoor-safe sculpture.

The collaboration between Coco Design Group and Ann Cox Design blends distinct styles—Morabito gravitating toward neutral tones and clean lines and Cox’s ability to weave in colors and patterns—creating interior magic. Together they found harmony in a modest and fresh design, resonating with clients’ visions to design a space that exudes contemporary minimalism.

The living room incorporates a custom sofa from Lazar and two sage green pillows for a pop of color in this neutral-colored home.
Going against traditionally white color choices, the kitchen implements bold black cabinetry by Lioher and white marble countertops that make a cocktail tray or charcuterie board pop.

The black candlestick lighting creates a moody, yet chic ambiance to the dining area.
The homeowner’s loft includes comfy cream chairs from Four Hands, a small coffee table from Ethnicraft and a desk from Bernhardt Design. The accompanying accessories, like the art above the desk, were procured from the expansive inventory of Coco Design Group and Ann Cox Design.
The primary bathroom features cabinetry from Lioher, mirrors from Uttermost, and amarbled accent wall for a greater impact in the neutral-toned space.
This black dresser from Noir in the bedroom provides a stark contrast against the white wall.
The Four Hands bed stands outainst a striking black accent wall that gains texture from wall molding, while welcoming ample light from the large windows beside it.
The sofa, media console and coffee table are all from Four Hands and the two pieces of art on the back wall were sourced from Bassett Mirror.
