For the ultimate in luxurious living, it’s hard to beat the allure of a dreamy coastal retreat. St. Petersburg’s Tropical Shores neighborhood, tucked away yet 10 minutes from Downtown, offers waterfront luxury blended with stylish urban living.
It’s what the owner of this two-story, four-bedroom, four-bathroom home had in mind when he began designing the home for him and his girlfriend. The vision was a design that complemented the overall architecture and captured the breathtaking bay view.
As such, blending indoor and outdoor living is top of mind in this 4,130-square-foot new build, which also incorporates 1,040 -square feet of covered porches. The living room, kitchen and primary bedroom are all water-facing.
Brooke Eversoll, CMKBD of Bee Studios, worked to highlight coastal elements in her design with a soft bright palette, natural textures and bright open space. “Clean lines and modern elements that create a light airy feel,” describes Eversoll. “It’s about bringing that light, bright casual yet elegant feel inside.”
The resultant crisp clean aesthetic amplifies the incomparable views. The abode is a tranquil space for the couple’s own endless summer at home. It’s no wonder that upon the home’s 2021 completion, it was used as the backdrop for the owner’s romantic overture, a wedding proposal to his future bride.
This modern coastal farmhouse is located 10 minutes south of Downtown St. Pete. The exterior is defined by modern design, clean lines and a monochrome palette.Landscaping by Crosspoint Landscape & Design adds complementing greenery, while wood garage doors are a stylish touch.“As a way to enhance the scale of this living room, I incorporated two oversized coffee tables side by side,” she describes. “Two extra comfy swivel chairs sit in front of the glass door, perfect for pivoting 180 degrees to watch the sun setting over the water.”The living room is large with an impressive two-story ceiling and beams above. “Creams and whites were used to balance the black and wood finishes,” says Eversoll. “All the furniture used was oversized to help anchor the space.”The den features built-in custom cabinetry with brushed gold handles. A freestanding desk looks great from all angles, and the stone table adds texture to the space.Some of the most impressive elements are the antique white and brass oversized pendants, 24” in diameter yet perfectly scaled to the room and the custom-made quartz hood.Instead of creating traditional island bar seating, Eversoll designed a custom walnut table with a black base (to match the railings) that free-floated next to the quartz island, barely kissing the surface.In the master suite, the bed is perfectly centered under the vaulted ceiling. Owners rise and rest to gorgeous views of Tampa Bay. “A custom coffee bar was designed with a mini fridge and storage for ultimate hotel vibes,” says Eversoll.Clean modern shelving is an ideal backdrop for objects and books.The large Eurowall sliding doors span 18’ wide and 9’ high to perfectly frame the vast water view of Tampa Bay. An extra large custom sectional with wood plinth base and a linen colored performance fabric was designed as the main furniture piece.
