Riverfest Returns to Tampa
Tampa Riverfest will be returning to the Riverwalk on May 5 and 6 with a lantern parade, taco festival, hot air balloons and full concert series. The family-friendly event also includes a wiener dog derby and stand-up paddleboard invasion.
Olivia by Chris Ponte Expands To St. Pete
One of Tampa Bay’s favorite chefs, Chris Ponte of Olivia, On Swann and Ponte, is expanding one of his most popular concepts to Downtown St. Pete. Olivia is set to open in the ground floor of the residential building, Ascent. The upscale Italian restaurant has yet to announce an opening date.
Rome Yard Development Takes Shape
A $300 million joint development project between the Tampa Housing Authority and Related Urban Development Group, Rome Yard is anticipated to include a mix of townhouses, apartments, shops, offices and commercial space, transforming over 18 acres in West Tampa. The project is expected to break ground later this year.
Gasparilla Music Festival Finds New 2023 Home
Normally held in Kiley Garden at the end of February or in early March, the 12th annual Gasparilla Music Festival will now be held April 29 and 30 in Curtis Hixon Park due to water intrusion issues at the former site.

TIME released its 2023 list of the World’s Greatest Places and out of 50 destinations listed, Tampa is one of only six U.S. cities to make the prestigious list.
Record Numbers Of Travelers Fly Through TPA
March 18 and 19 marked Tampa International Airport’s busiest weekend of passenger traffic in history. During this spring break period, over 90,000 travelers passed through the airport, shattering the previous record of 86,000 passengers in March of last year.
AC Hotel, Cane & Barrel Now Open In St. Pete
Downtown St. Petersburg just welcomed an 8-story AC Hotel complete with a Cuban-inspired rooftop bar with an emphasis on all things rum, Cane & Barrel. Both are now open to the public.
Tampa Bay Neighborhoods Named Florida’s Best
A new report from Niche, has named several Tampa Bay neighborhoods as Florida’s best places to live. Among them are Hyde Park, Harbour Island, Palma Ceia, and Downtown Tampa. Additionally, Tampa Bay was named the 17th most diverse place in America.
