Strategic Property Partners to Relocate Headquarters
Strategic Property Partners (SPP) is relocating its headquarters from Sparkman Wharf to Thousand & One, a premier office tower in Water Street Tampa. The move positions SPP closer to upcoming development phases while allowing fintech solutions provider Velera to establish its headquarters at Sparkman Wharf. 

Tampa Rapper Named Billboard’s Woman of the Year
Tampa native Doechii recently earned the title of Billboard’s 2025 Woman of the Year, joining an impressive list of past honorees like Madonna, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande. She made headlines in February as the third woman in history to win a Grammy for Best Rap Album with her mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” which The Associated Press named one of the best albums of the year.

New Tampa Restaurants Added to MICHELIN Guide
A total of 14 restaurants were added to this year’s MICHELIN Guide Florida, including four in Tampa. The newest additions include Big Ray’s Fish Camp, Cousin Vinny’s Sandwich Co.—which earned MICHELIN recognition just two months after opening its storefront—Fisk and Mad Dogs & Englishmen.

TEDx Returning to Tampa After Over a Decade
TEDxTampa returns on May 2, marking the region’s first major TEDx event since 2014. Led by Tampa natives Krishna and Harikrishna Patel, the event at the Straz Center will feature thought leaders like ReliaQuest CEO Brian Murphy and Tampa General CEO John Couris.

Hillsborough Ranks 5th in Florida for Economic Growth
A SmartAsset study, which examined the increase in the value of all goods and services produced within the county over the past year, ranked Hillsborough County fifth in Florida for economic growth, leading Tampa Bay in gross domestic product (GDP). With a 12.9% business growth rate and strong development, it continues to drive the region’s economy. Pinellas follows closely with the highest per capita income, while Polk and Pasco show rapid expansion, fueled by new businesses and construction.
