Nellie Martinez has called Tampa home for 40 years, originally moving to the area to pursue a business degree. Now a real estate broker and owner of Martinez² & Associates of Florida, Tampa is where she met her husband, built her family and raised two children. The stunning beaches and coastal lifestyle have made it the perfect place for her to settle and thrive.
ABOUT ME
I’ve been an entrepreneur since the age of 21, and throughout my journey, I’ve developed a strong passion for working with people. My decision to become a Real Estate Broker was driven by my excellent communication skills and strong negotiation abilities—skills I’m eager to apply in helping individuals achieve the American dream of homeownership.
It’s that indescribable feeling of helping transform four walls and a roof into a place someone can truly call home. There is no greater satisfaction than knowing you’ve played a part in making that dream a reality, and it’s the best feeling at the close of every transaction.
MY LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
My favorite hidden gem is a Cuban cuisine food truck called Ke’Kai. They create healthy bowls that keep that great Cuban flavor, and to top it all off, they have the best empanadas in town—everything is homemade.
A new restaurant I recently enjoyed for dinner is called Quality Foods Market Pizzeria. They serve great Italian food, and what I love most is that the menu is never the same but always delicious. They also have a great wine selection.
A great place for a quick lunch is Harvest Bowl Eatery & Market. Their Mediterranean Chicken is fantastic!
I always enjoy a good cup of coffee. My daughter recently introduced me to a great coffee shop in Ybor City called Pete’s Bagels. Their bagels are fresh and the coffee is always good.
We have so many great restaurants in the area that it’s hard to choose, but Malio’s is always a longtime favorite of mine. You can dine with an amazing view.
One of my favorite places in Tampa for brunch is Psomi, with its fresh bread.
When people come to visit, a place we always like to take them is the Armature Works and Ybor City. There, they can ride the trolley, visit the cigar bar, and enjoy the restaurants, getting a true feel for Tampa’s culture.
A day out in Tampa Bay with the family is always outdoors—kayaking on the Courtney Campbell Causeway or taking a stroll through Safety Harbor. It’s always nice to end the day by grabbing something to eat in Midtown.
My favorite spot to kayak or paddleboard in Tampa is near the Gandy. It’s a beautiful location with stunning sunsets and a hidden bird sanctuary.
When I’m not working, I love to dance and listen to music or take a drive to the beach to enjoy the outdoors.
