The highly anticipated Sparkman Wharf will open November 30 with a weekend-long grand opening celebration, Strategic Property Partners announced today.
Sparkman Wharf is one of the first pieces of SPP’s massive Water Street Tampa development to come online. Formerly Channelside Bay Plaza, the outdoor space will feature 10 dining concepts from local chefs, a craft beer garden, a recreational community lawn, band stage for live music and large LED screen to show broadcasts of sporting events. SPP says opening weekend will see all dining and beverage concepts open for business, plus live music, fitness events from CAMP Tampa and other “exciting pop-ups.”
“We are thrilled to announce the grand opening date of Sparkman Wharf and celebrate the first of many milestones for the Water Street Tampa neighborhood,” said James Nozar, CEO of developer Strategic Property Partners, LLC in a statement. “We anticipate that Sparkman Wharf will become a focal point and gathering place not only for visitors and the neighborhood, but the city and region at large. Sparkman Wharf celebrates Tampa Bay — the culinary talent, the craft beer scene, the weather, and the waterfront, and we could not be more excited to share Sparkman Wharf with the larger community.”
The final list of eateries at Sparkman Wharf, housed in repurposed shipping containers with artwork by Pep Rally, Inc., was released over the summer:
–Whatever Pops and Bowls (gourmet ice pops and acai bowls)
–Gallito (Mexican street food by Rooster & the Till chef Ferrell Alvarez)
–Boat Run Oyster Company (Florida-grown oysters from the team behind Salt Block Hospitality)
–Montados (Spanish tapas and wine by Mise en Place’s Maryann Ferenc and Marty Blitz)
–BT in a Box (French-Vietnamese fusion by chef BT Nguyen)
–Flock and Stock (Chicken tenders and burgers from restaurateur Dave Burton)
–The Corners Pizza (Detroit-style pizza by chef Anthony Messina and Ichicoro’s Noel Cruz)
–edison’s swigamajig (seafood and cocktails from chef Jeannie Pierola)
–Fermented Reality craft beer garden
Strategic Property Partners also announced that Sparkman Wharf will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., as well as any day of a Tampa Bay Lightning home game or event at Amalie Arena. The mixed-use space will also house up to 65,000 square feet of retail space, plus luxury, waterfront office spaces.
