A quick summary of the new private jets for 2025 would be this: Faster, Farther, Palatial. The new breed of jets now travels closer to the speed of sound, offers transcontinental and transoceanic range and provides sumptuous accommodations for guests. Here’s a look at what’s coming soon to airports in the Tampa Bay area.
Cessna Citation Ascend
The Cessna Citation is arguably the most popular private jet in the world, with one taking off or landing every two minutes. For 2025, the Citation Ascend now has a 441-knot cruise speed and a four-passenger range of 1,900 nm. The luxe interior can accommodate up to 12 passengers in swivel seats, offering a view through 15% larger cabin windows. Just as important, Cessna has added new acoustical packages that allow for talking at normal household levels. And with a 3,660-foot takeoff distance, the Ascend can access many small fields.
Dassault Falcon 10X
Able to carry up to 18 passengers depending on the cabin layout, the Falcon 10X has a 7,500 nm range and a top speed of Mach .925, or just over 700 mph. The tallest (6-foot 8-inch) and widest cabin in its class, the 10X features a gourmet galley, allowing for full onboard-prepared cuisine. Powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl engines that are efficient and clean, the 10X also has an all-carbon-fiber wing. Pilots will appreciate the advanced avionics digital touch screens with dual heads-up displays, so both pilots have full information in their line of sight.

Not everyone needs long range, but the Echelon is the first light jet with a transcontinental range of 2,625 nm. Capable of carrying 11 passengers at a 450-knot cruise, the HondaJet can reach 47,000 feet and is the first transcontinental jet rated for a single pilot. While Honda is the parent company (think soccer-mom vans), the jet is built in Greensboro, NC, and will debut in late 2025. Several layouts are available, including one with a stateroom and a bed. Pilots will like the Garmin auto-landing and auto-braking systems in the all-glass cockpit.
Gulfstream G800
Though not yet launched, Gulfstream also claims an 8,000 nm range for their G800, but with a bumped-up high-speed cruise of Mach 0.925 (about 700 mph). Layouts accommodate up to 19 passengers in three living areas, which can include ten sleeper seats. The Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck is designed for pilots with 10 touchscreen displays and sidestick controls (rather than conventional yokes) to increase crew efficiency. The cabin altitude is 2,900 feet, even when flying at 41,000 feet, for a refreshed arrival.
Bombardier Global 8000
Setting out to claim the longest private jet range, the Global 8000 offers an 8,000 nm range, meaning it can fly non-stop from Los Angeles to Singapore or London to Perth, Australia. Bombardier also claims the fastest title with a top speed of Mach 0.94 (about 721 mph) and a transcontinental cruising speed of Mach 0.92. Cabin layouts include a four-zone arrangement with a full-size bed and stand-up shower and the entertainment zone boasts the largest TV on a business jet at 55 inches.
