Billion Dollar Investment Firm is Coming to Water Street
Polar Capital, a $30.9 billion London-based investment firm founded in 2001, signed a four-year, four-month lease at Thousand & One Water Street. The new office location will help expand the brand’s presence in the U.S. and bring more life to Water Street.

St. Pete Brewery Among Best in the Country
Green Bench Brewing Company made VinePair’s list of the best breweries in America. Thirty beer experts, including writers, historians, and community leaders, ranked the St. Pete staple as one of the best in the country. Green Bench was also the only Florida brewery to make the cut.
Tampa’s Riverwalk Westward Expansion Underway
Tampa is moving forward with the $56M westward expansion of the Riverwalk. The CRA has approved $10M toward the project, which will extend the Riverwalk from Bayshore Publix on Platt Street to Rick’s on the River, continuing along Columbus Drive and Rome Avenue to create over 12 miles of bike and pedestrian pathways.
Tampa Restaurant Olivia Opens Second Location
Tampa’s Olivia, a modern Italian restaurant by award-winning and James Beard-nominated chef Chris Ponte, has opened a second location in St. Petersburg. The original Olivia, named after Ponte’s daughter, debuted in South Tampa in 2019. The St. Petersburg location offers the same menu as its South Tampa counterpart but features a larger space, an expanded bar, and outdoor patio seating. Currently open for dinner only, it plans to add a weekend brunch.
Pacific Counter Expands with New St. Petersburg Location
Nearly seven years after opening its flagship location at 660 Central Ave., Pacific Counter is growing its footprint in St. Pete. The fast-casual restaurant chain will open a new location in the Northeast Shopping Center, taking over the 1,300-square-foot space previously occupied by Island Fin Poké.
